From the Easel: "All the King's horses, and all the King's men"

I have been getting a lot of planning done for Spectrum Live in May and a lot of stressing done as well. I am doing a small series of paintings for the show and for those interested, the paintings and preliminary drawings will be available for purchase. Prints will also be available for a select few. I am keeping the criteria for the series broad but trying to stick with recognizable characters from folklore (the first was from a nursery rhyme).

Here are the first two from the series!"All the King's horses, and all the King's men", 11" x 14", Oil on Panel, 2012

From the Easel: "What speed limit?"/ "Halo Mage"

As some of you may know I had to have alot of work done on my car recently and thanks to a friend of mine the repairs didn't leave me destitute. So I did a little painting sketch for him of the car he drives (minus the paint job).

Here is the latest painting that I have finished, that was both for my portfolio and an Art Order challenge.

From the Easel: "Valley Scout"

Getting a little backed up on posts here, but I have a project that is going to fix that! I am currently working on a small painting a week, the premise; monsters. In preparation for Spectrum Live I am doing these paintings as a series, but I have said to much at the moment, the first one is almost done!
To catch up on my cache of images, here is "Valley Scout". I entered this painting into Spectrum 19 along with a few others.

Heresy!

Here is an image of my latest painting, "Heresy!". I wanted to not only get it up here but to give a shout-out to Marcus J. Ranum. Follow the link in his name to his Deviant art page where I found his portfolio. He does stock photography but does a much better job than the standard figure rotation. He has knights riding on horses and ninjas jumping through the air, yeah no joke, check him out. If you intend on using an image just take a look at his rules, you pretty much have free reign to use them for artistic purposes but take a look anyway.

From May 18th-20th I will be in Kansas City, MO at Spectrum Live! If your attending or in the area come check out my booth. Will have new work to check out! Link here or on the .gif on the top right of this page.

From the Easel: Pig Man

Something fast and dirty. Started it as a sketch on my laptop on a bumpy plane ride...with the trackpad! That's pretty hard, needless to say I didn't get very far.

Just having fun here, learning more and more about how to achieve what I want in Painter 11.
